PDI Operation

The SureFire II PDI Lubricator functions with a motor-driven pump that pulls lubricant from the reservoir and sends it under pressure through the outlet(s) located in the top plate, towards the distribution network. The pressurization of the distribution network activates all the positive displacement injectors (PDIs) in the system, causing them to release the lubricant they have stored in their discharge chambers during the last pump cycle.

After all the PDIs have released their contents, the pressure in the network continues to increase until it reaches the pressure limit set in the pressure switch. At this point, the pressure switch can be used to halt the motor, and the pressure in the distribution network momentarily exceeds the pressure on the outlet side of the gear pump. This pressure difference then triggers a quick dump valve which releases the pressure in the distribution line back into the reservoir.

SLR Operation

The SureFire SLR Lubricator utilizes a motor-driven pump to draw oil from the reservoir and supply it under pressure to the distribution network through the outlet(s) located on the top plate. As the distribution network is pressurized, it compels all the resistance fittings in the system to release oil in measured amounts to the friction points. The resistance fittings continue to flow, while the pump increases the pressure until the pressure relief valve setting is achieved (75 psi/5 bar).

When the motor is turned off, the pressure in the distribution network returns to nearly 0 psi. This, in turn, triggers a quick dump valve that discharges the line pressure back into the reservoir.
