What you'll also need
- Air preparation ahead of any air pump: filter/regulator combos F956 (1/4IN), F957 (3/8IN), F958 (1/2IN) or FRL F6282/F984/F985 [Brochure 33136 p.18].
- Oil pumps only - hook-up kits: F904 (PM2), F906 (PM4), F916 (PM35), F914 (PM45/PM60) - air hose, quick coupler/nipple and 5FT fluid hose [Brochure 33136 p.8, p.16].
- Grease pumps on open-top drums need a cover (F1934 35 lb, F1936 120 lb, F1938 400 lb) and a follower plate (F962, F964, F966) [DuaLine DL29 p.13].
- Relief valves (36IN return tube): F609007 900 psi for PM2/PM4, PM45, PM60, PM35 5:1; F609008 1450 psi for PM35 8:1, PM45 10:1, PM60 12:1 oil pumps [Brochure 33136 p.9].
Before you order
- For water-based and slightly corrosive fluids; not for strong acids and not suitable for DEF [Brochure 33136 p.17].
- Match the pump tube length to the container: 35 lb, 120 lb and 400 lb versions of the same pump are different part numbers and are not interchangeable.
- Bung-mount pumps need a 2IN bung opening; the listed grease pumps handle grease up to and including NLGI 2 [Brochure 33136 p.10-15].
- Output pressure = air pressure x ratio; check the rated max air pressure for the model (100 to 200 psi depending on model) [Brochure 33136].
- Install an air shut-off valve: if air is left on and the outlet circuit leaks, the pump restarts and can empty the container [DS 35993 p.2].
Choosing between options
- Oil transfer: PM2 1:1 for short runs/high volume; PM2 3:1 or PM4 5:1 for hose reels and meters; PM35/PM45/PM60 for heavy-duty and multi-outlet systems [Brochure 33136 p.1-8].
- Grease: PM3 55:1 for portable/stationary single-reel service; PM35 60:1 for up to 2 simultaneous outlets; PM45/PM60 for large multi-outlet systems [Brochure 33136 p.10-14].
- For injector or DuaLine central stations use 9035/9120/9400 - the PM3 55:1 with return tube to the drum bottom [DS 35993 p.4; DuaLine DL29 p.12].
